Hospitality Level 2 Apprenticeships
What will I be doing?
Hospitality level 2 is for individuals who are passionate about improving the customer experience – and are looking to get a foothold in housekeeping, food and beverage services, or the tourism industry.
This means that you could be based in a variety of workplaces, including a bar, café, hotel reception or in the kitchen. However, this all depends on the pathways you choose in your qualification.
Whilst gaining the practical skills you need in the role, you will also work towards achieving an essential qualification that will be needed to kick-start a successful career in the industry.
Some of your key responsibilities during this apprenticeship will include giving customers a positive impression of the organisation, making sure your area is hygienic and orderly, maintaining stock, and using effective communication within a team.
What qualifications will I get?
There are three pathways you can take within the hospitality level 2 apprenticeships, each of which will take at least 12 months to complete. The qualifications offered include:
Pathway 1: Hospitality Services:
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Services (QCF)
- BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality & Catering Principles
Pathway 2: Housekeeping:
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Housekeeping (QCF)
- BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality & Catering Principles (Housekeeping)
Pathway 3: Food and Beverage Services:
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Food and Beverage Service (QCF)
- BTEC Level 2 in Hospitality and Catering Principles (Food & Beverage Service)
If you need to improve your Maths and English skills, there will also be Functional Skills qualifications available on all of these pathways.
What are the entry requirements?
As with all apprenticeships, the only entry requirements are that you can demonstrate a basic ability with maths and English. You should also be passionate about starting work in the hospitality industry.
You don’t need to have any prior experience in the industry in order to apply.
What can I do afterwards?
After completing this apprenticeship, you will have a qualification that shows employers and customers you have the skills to work in jobs such as hotel receptionist, chef, bar tender and waiter/waitress.
You could also strengthen your skills and pick up the knowledge to embark on a supervisory position after completing the level 3 hospitality apprenticeship.
