Hospitality Level 3 Apprenticeships

What will I be doing?

Hospitality level 3 is for those who are working in a hospitality and catering role, and want to progress towards a leadership position, in which you will set objectives and provide support for your team. You will supervise staff within hospitality services, working alongside colleagues and customers to solve any issues that arise.

This qualification will improve your leadership abilities, your customer service skills, and your awareness of maintaining health and safety in a working environment.

The units you will be tested on include:

      • Setting objectives and providing support for team members
      • Developing your working relationship with your colleagues
      • Improving customer service performance within the hospitality industry
      • Controlling and making the best of your resources as a leader

The qualification will also involve a host of optional units depending on your career pathway, including contributing towards the development of menus and recipes, and promoting hospitality products and services.

What qualifications will I get?

After completing this 12 month apprenticeship, you will achieve a level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Supervision & Leadership (QCF), and a BTEC Level 3 Award in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership Principles.

If required, you can also complete level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English.

What are the entry requirements?

This qualification is designed for learners who are employed in hospitality positions and are looking to take the next step in their career.

Hospitality level 3 is the ideal progression on from the level 2 apprenticeship, and that means that those who apply should have at least one year’s worth of experience in the industry.

What can I do afterwards?

After completing this apprenticeship, you will also be able to undertake supervisory or management roles within a catering and hospitality environment. This means positions such as bar manager, restaurant manager, hotel manager, kitchen supervisor, or leisure centre manager.

If you wish to continue your studies in hospitality after the apprenticeship, you might move onto a level 4 management qualification.
