Warehousing and Storage Level 2 Apprenticeship

What will I be doing?

This course is suitable for anyone that is currently working in a warehousing and storage environment, or looking to enter a similar logistics role. With the Warehousing and Storage level 2 apprenticeship, you will gain the hands on skills you will need to thrive in this environment.

Your on-the-job training will take place in a warehouse environment, where you will perform a range of tasks to help keep the logistics department running smoothly. Some of the tasks you could expect to take part in include:

      • Picking, wrapping and packing goods
      • Processing customer orders and arranging for their dispatch
      • Checking stock levels and stock records
      • Using machinery such as a forklift truck, side-loader, and compact crane
      • Maintaining hygiene standards in handling and storing goods

There are also some module modules available for you to take during the qualification, such as the principles of food safety in a warehouse, contributing to customer service, and maintaining the safety and security of hazardous goods in logistics operations.

What qualifications will I get?

You will achieve a Warehousing and Storage level 2 NVQ Certificate and if required, level 1 Functional Skills in Mathematics and English.

The level 2 certificate in Warehousing and Storage will give you a foundation of knowledge and experience in the role, which you can then strengthen by progressing onto the level 3 apprenticeship.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal requirements for this apprenticeship, other than that you should be a hardworking team player to help with the smooth running of the warehouse.

What can I do afterwards?

Completing Warehousing and Storage level 2 will allow you to work as a warehouse operative, where you will be experienced in loading and unloading vehicles, picking and packing orders, and using warehousing machinery and equipment.

If you wish to progress into roles such as supervisor, team leader, or a management position within the logistics sector, you can begin a level 3 apprenticeship in Warehousing and Storage.
