Warehousing and Storage Level 3 Apprenticeship

What will I be doing?

Completing Warehousing and Storage level 3 will give you a deeper understanding of warehousing and logistics in a supervisory or team leader position. Throughout the qualification, you will cover a range of activities carried out by senior staff members.

You will learn various techniques of how to manage and improve team performance, as well as how to respond to issues that arise in the workplace. The role will require you to develop both you and your team’s skills to ensure the department runs smoothly. Some of your duties may include:

      • Setting targets and leading your team to new challenges
      • Allocating and supervising the work of your team, offering feedback and guidance
      • Recruiting and inducting new colleagues into your department
      • Arranging the transportation of goods using multiple modes of transport
      • Applying and integrating new technology in your logistics operations

What qualifications will I get?

You will achieve a Warehousing and Storage Level 3 certificate, and if required, level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics and English.

The qualification strengthens the foundation of knowledge you will have learned on the level 2 apprenticeship, giving you substantial training to become a supervisor, and an asset to any business in the industry.

What are the entry requirements?

As the level 3 will require you to carry out the duties of more senior staff, it will mean you should have prior knowledge of the industry. It is recommended that you first complete the level 2 qualification in Warehousing and Storage to gain the experience needed for this level.

There are exceptions for those that can show at least a year’s worth of experience, but this depends on the choices of the employer.

What can I do afterwards?

On completion, you will be qualified to take on senior roles in a logistics setting, such as warehouse supervisor or team leader, fork lift truck supervisor, or similar roles in logistics.

Routes for progression could lead to a logistics management position, where we would recommend the Management Level 4 qualification.
